Orange confirms iPad contract deals

15 March 2012

Get it cheaper if you are an existing customer

Orange seems to be rewarding loyalty with discounted iPads when it launches tomorrow. Although everyone will still be paying the same monthly fee.

If you are currently enjoying a relationship with Orange, you get the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models of the new iPad for £199, £249 and £349 respectively. That's compared to new customers paying £229, £279 and £379. £30 quid off then.

No matter what you pay, the contract is the same price over the 24 months, £25 for each month. For that, you get 1GB of 'anytime' data, 1GB of 'Quiet Time' data (midnight - 4pm) and unlimited BT Openzone Wi-Fi. Is that a good deal? Depends on your needs and network coverage. You can compare with the Three deal here.

If you want to go Apple crazy, Orange is also doing an iPad and iPhone deal too, with the choice of iPad (16GB, 32GB and 64GB) and a choice of iPhone, from an 8GB iPhone 3GS through to a 64GB iPhone 4S. Check out the Orange site for how that breaks down in terms of upfront payment, as there are a number of different deals. But the bottom line for both is £66 over 24 months each month.

Finally, like the Three version of the tablet, the new iPad from Orange will work with the upcoming HSPA+/3.5G network upgrade for even faster browsing speeds.
