Nokia navigates updates

22 March 2012

New Drive and Map updates enable offline usage for Nokia WP7 owners

The navigation suite updates unveiled by Nokia at last month's Mobile World Congress are now available for its Windows Phone 7 users.

Nokia Drive now supports a speed limit feature to help keep you on the right side of the law, but perhaps more beneficial is offline navigation so you won't be gobbling up your data allocation while on the road. This enables you to download the maps you want and then go offline to use them - particularly useful if you're going abroad.

The Nokia Maps update includes a sharing option, making it easy to send location details via SMS, email or social networking, as well as a Favourites list for storing your frequently visited places.Traffic support is also added for the UK as well as a host of other international destinations.

Nokia Lumia owners can also now download Nokia Transport from the Windows Marketplace, previously only available as a beta release. The app provides information on public transport from 510 cities in 46 countries, 13 of those cities being in the UK.
