HTC Golf coming this summer

13 March 2012

Budget Android could be sequel to HTC Explorer

Don't take much note of the name, that's likely to change ahead of an official launch. But the details of the HTC Golf do tell us much about HTC's next affordable Android phone.

There isn't an official or even decent spy shot of the phone as yet, just the details, which point at a sequel to the HTC Explorer, which is reviewed here and pictured on this page.

Those leaked details specifically point to an Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, a sub-1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a three-megapixel camera, a microSD slot and possibly HTC Sense 4.0.

Expect images to break cover soon enough. In fact, expect the phone fairly soon too, with talk of the Golf (under its official name) coming in the second quarter of 2012 for an affordable contract price.
